How Alpoco handles personal information
This policy explains how Alpoco collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information through alpoco.com.au, our quote flows, contact forms and related support channels.
Overview
Alpoco provides outdoor living products and related quote, consultation and support services. We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to answer enquiries, prepare quotes, arrange follow-up, provide products and services, maintain records, secure our website and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We generally do not ask for sensitive information. Please do not send sensitive information to us unless we ask for it or it is reasonably necessary for your request.
What we collect
The kinds of personal information we may collect and hold include:
- contact details such as your name, email address, phone number and suburb or postcode
- project details such as product interests, dimensions, timing, budget signals, preferences and enquiry notes
- address details if you choose to provide them for site visits or follow-up
- contact form details such as subject line and message content
- technical and usage information such as IP address, user agent, referrer page and event identifiers used for security or measurement
- approximate location information if you choose the browser geolocation option on the quote page
- browser-side saved data such as quote progress, cart contents, design selections and recent submission details stored on your device
- if you select files in the quote form, the current website flow records file metadata such as file name, file type and file size
How we collect it
We usually collect personal information directly from you when you:
- submit a quote request, quick quote or contact form
- call, email, message or otherwise contact Alpoco
- use interactive site tools such as customisers, saved designs or browser location features
- browse our website, where limited technical data may be collected automatically
When you choose the quote-page location helper, your browser asks for permission to share your location. If you approve, the site sends those coordinates to BigDataCloud's reverse-geocoding service to prefill suburb and postcode.
How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide requested quotes, consultations and support
- recommend products, estimate scope, plan site visits and manage customer follow-up
- send service-related communications about an active enquiry, quote or project
- store and organise submission records in our hosted systems
- protect our forms and systems against spam, misuse and delivery failures
- measure website and campaign performance, including lead attribution
- improve our website, workflows and customer experience
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, warranty and dispute-handling obligations
Cookies, pixel and browser storage
Our website may use browser storage and similar technologies to remember your activity on this device. This can include quote progress, saved designs, cart contents and recent submission details so that a session can continue more smoothly.
We also use Meta Pixel on many pages and Meta Conversions API on quote submissions for advertising measurement and lead attribution. These tools may collect or receive information such as pages viewed, button interactions, IP address, browser details and, when a quote is submitted, hashed identifiers such as email address, phone number, name and postcode.
Disclosure and service providers
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to operate the website and provide our services. Depending on the interaction, this may include disclosure to:
- website hosting, security and infrastructure providers
- database, storage and backup providers used to retain submission records
- email or mail-relay providers used to send enquiries to our team
- alerting or messaging providers used to notify our team if form delivery fails
- Meta for advertising attribution and conversion measurement
- BigDataCloud when you actively use the optional reverse-geocoding location helper
- professional advisers, regulators, insurers or law-enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers operate outside Australia or use infrastructure distributed across multiple countries. As a result, personal information is likely to be disclosed to or processed by overseas recipients, including providers associated with advertising, hosting, alerting and communications tools.
Where practicable, likely overseas locations include the United States and other countries in which those providers or their subprocessors operate infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to work with reputable providers and limit disclosure to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant service.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Measures may include access controls, hosted platform safeguards, transport security, rate limiting, logging and operational monitoring.
Submitted form information may be stored in hosted systems used by Alpoco for customer enquiry management and delivery monitoring. We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including record-keeping, support, warranty, complaint handling and legal compliance.
Access and correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. To make a request, contact us using the details below and include enough information for us to locate your records.
We may need to verify your identity before processing an access or correction request. We will respond within a reasonable period.
